What the owner reported, and what Plunge did.

In the order they were first reported.

  1. Jets and flowReported impaired

The owner reported on May 1, 2024, the day after the replacement unit was delivered and set up, that its jets were not working despite resets. On May 3 the owner reported the jets had stopped again; after a remote restart the owner wrote that it "turned on for a minute and now it's off again." On May 10 the owner reported the jets kept turning off at random and came back only after many resets.

Plunge support suggested checking the water level, filter and valves and fitting a new filter, and twice said the unit looked normal from its remote view. It handed the case to its director of customer service, describing "recent unusual changes with the new replacement plunge."

    • The jets failed the day after the replacement unit was set up (April 30 to May 1, 2024).

  2. Controls and appReported impaired

The owner reported on May 3, 2024 that the app had gone offline. On May 15 all three machines dropped off the app; once re-added, this one's pause button would not pause the jets and its fan was making a very loud noise. The owner reported the pause problem again on May 16 and, on May 20, that the unit kept restarting.

Plunge support suggested reinstalling the app and said it could see the unit going offline several times. On May 17 Plunge's repair team wrote that the needed repair was covered under the factory warranty and that it would order replacement parts. Its field service manager asked the earlier technician to return. On May 28 Plunge's system showed the job as scheduled while the owner said nothing had been scheduled, and on May 31 Plunge sent a notice that it would close the case if it did not hear back within 24 hours.

    • Eight days after the restart report, the owner said no repair visit had been scheduled, although Plunge's system showed one (May 20 to 28).

  3. Dosing and water chemistryReported impaired

During the May 3, 2024 jet problem the owner reported that the auto-doser was flashing that it was not working properly.

    Owner account
  4. Jets and flowReported impaired

The owner reported on July 21, 2024 problems with "the same 2 plunges again": this unit's jets were barely blowing, even though it had been reset several times, drained and refilled with new filters about two weeks earlier, and updated to the latest firmware.

Plunge support said the unit was struggling with flow and suggested new filters and checking the drains for debris.

  5. CoolingReported impaired

In the same July 21, 2024 report the owner said the unit was having a hard time maintaining temperature.

    Owner account
  6. Controls and appApp or controls only

The owner reported in January 2025 that all three units, this one included, dropped off the app and showed as offline every three to four weeks, and had to be deleted and reset each time to come back online.

Plunge support said that if all three units were affected, the router was most likely steering them to its 5 GHz band instead of the 2.4 GHz band the units need, and asked which router was in use.

  7. PowerReported not operating

The owner reported in May 2026 that this unit was not turning on. Power cycles at the plug had failed several times over two days, and the owner sent a photo of the plug.

Plunge support sent the case to engineering, then offered a fuse swap "to try and restore power" and sent an invoice for two fuses. It also said the unit's electrical box had been reaching 140 degrees and recommended more ventilation or a set point no lower than 55 degrees; that was a possible explanation, not a confirmed cause.

  8. LeakReported not operating

The owner reported on June 17, 2026 that water was collecting beneath the right-side chiller platform and the filter housing was damp, with no visible drip. On June 18 the owner reported the water had turned cloudy and the auto-doser showed low ORP. On June 22 the unit was still leaking slowly while partly filled, and the filter housing stayed dry while the unit was off. On June 23 the owner wrote: "My plunge has now been unoperational for well over a week and I have no solution." On June 24 the owner removed the end panel, found water leaking from somewhere beneath the fan and chiller area and pooling in a rusted area, and then saw another leak point on the left side, without knowing whether it was a separate leak. On July 24 the owner wrote that the plunge had been out of service since June 14 and asked for an answer that day. On July 28 the owner wrote that the technician could not schedule the repair until the parts for both units being repaired had arrived, that the first chiller, ordered 12 days earlier, still had not come, and that the commercial operation would likely be out of order for a total of two months. On August 4 the owner reported that part of the shipment had been missing and had to be reshipped.

Plunge support said the photos showed a completely damp filter-housing assembly and that it was asking engineering to authorize an expedited replacement filter-housing kit and pressure seals. On June 23 it closed this unit's leak request and merged it into Machine 1's case; the owner objected that the two cases concerned different units with separate problems. In July Plunge's repairs team asked its installation partner to schedule the visit once the parts arrived, and on July 25 said the separately shipped chiller would arrive July 28. The repair replaced the chiller, filter housing and auto-doser wiring; Plunge did not name the source of the leak.

    • Out of service from June 14 by the owner's account: 40 days by July 24, when the owner wrote it was still out.
    • The replacement chiller was ordered 12 days before July 28, was missing from the July 21 shipment, still had not arrived on July 28 and had to be reshipped.

  9. Dosing and water chemistryReported impaired

After service in summer 2026, the owner reported on August 6 that this unit's Hanna controller kept showing an overtime error and shutting off.

Plunge support acknowledged "new problems after service," including the Hanna overtime shutoff that continued after manual dosing and switching back to automatic. Engineering said the overtime could be cleared with an on-site reset sequence.

  10. LightingReported impaired

The owner reported on August 6, 2026 that this unit's light flickered, and on August 24 that the lights on this machine and Machine 3 were turning on and off at random, a problem the owner said began after the chillers and Hanna controllers were replaced. The owner declined to pay for parts to fix a problem that had not existed before those repairs.

Engineering approved a replacement LED spa-light kit for this unit and Plunge sent a quote for it. Two light kits arrived in a free supplies order on September 21.

  11. Jets and flowReported impaired

The owner reported on August 6, 2026 that this unit's jets appeared much weaker than the neighboring unit's, and on August 24 that the jet issue had not been resolved. On August 31 the owner sent two side-by-side videos showing what the owner described as a "drastic difference" in jet flow, reported that this unit's water was visibly cloudier although it had been drained and refilled four days earlier, and raised a concern that the weak flow could affect circulation and filtering. The owner noted the jet-flow concern was first raised on May 3, 2024, and repeated it on September 2.

Plunge support said the measured maximum flow on both units was 38 to 39 LPM, within the normal range, and that weaker jets near the chiller cabinet are normal because of the venturi system. The September 2026 repair proposal does not address flow or cloudiness.

    • 852 days from the owner first raising the jet flow (May 3, 2024) to raising it again on September 2, 2026.
  12. Dosing and water chemistryReported impaired

On August 24, 2026 the owner reported the Hanna controller was once again turning itself off, with an error message that gave no cause. The owner said the controller was a brand-new replacement installed in the recent repairs, declined to buy maintenance parts to diagnose it, and asked that any supplies engineering wanted used be sent at no charge. On August 31 the owner reported the problem again.

Plunge support first listed maintenance supplies to buy, then said the behavior appeared to be a probe and tubing maintenance requirement rather than a controller hardware failure. Plunge sent free maintenance supplies to the studio on September 21. On September 23 Plunge said the Hanna reading problems were linked to a known firmware issue, with a fix expected in a rollout in 10 to 14 days.

  13. Controls and appReported impaired

The owner reported on September 2, 2026 that the unit kept going into a "frozen" mode: the buttons stopped responding, the Hanna controller stopped working, and the app asked for a firmware update that would not install, even after the owner removed and re-added the unit in the app. The owner noted that the unit's chiller, Hanna controller and probe had been installed about three weeks earlier. On September 8 the owner wrote that there had been no response, and on September 11 confirmed the unit was on and ready but that the updates had failed.

On September 11 Plunge pushed the firmware remotely and asked the owner to keep monitoring.

    • Six days without a response (September 2 to 8).
    • Nine days from the report to Plunge's remote firmware push (September 2 to 11).

  14. Controls and appReported impaired

On September 20, 2026 the owner reported an OR error on this machine and Machine 3 when connecting to Wi-Fi or pausing the jets, and said the displayed temperature had never matched the measured water temperature on these units since delivery in 2024. On September 21 the owner reported both units had been offline in the app for several days and could not be reconnected by any available method.

Plunge support said engineering's remote metrics showed no OR code and asked for video, and said an OF code might need a user-interface replacement. On September 23 engineering recommended a UI ribbon cable and UI display for this unit's app-connection problem, priced on September 29.

    • 27 days from the September 2 fault report to a priced repair on September 29. Nothing had been installed by September 29.

  • Plunge manufacturer warranty

One year from the original purchase (six months for the auto-doser probe)

A replacement machine keeps the original end date. Plunge covered a repair on this machine under this warranty in May 2024, three weeks after it was set up. It ended in spring 2025; later repairs went through the extended protection or were paid by the owner.

  • Extended protection, through XCover

    February 28, 2025 to February 28, 2030

One certificate per machine, each with an $11,990 limit. Plunge sent this machine's summer 2026 chiller and leak repair through it.

What the owner did
  • Reset the new replacement unit repeatedly, opened and closed its valves, checked its water level and filter, and reported each result to Plunge support (May 2024).
  • Removed and re-added all three units in the app to bring them back online, then reported which ones reconnected and that this unit's pause button still did not work (May 2024).
  • Swapped this unit's filters, checked the main debris filter and asked how to reach the secondary drains, after draining, refilling and updating the firmware two weeks earlier (July 2024).
  • Ran the requested power cycles over two days and sent a photo of the plug when the unit would not turn on (May 2026).
  • Sent videos and photos of the June 2026 leak, drained and partly refilled the tub to test it, removed the unit's end panel to inspect beneath the fan and chiller area, and monitored it until a second leak point appeared (June 2026).
  • Asked Plunge why this unit's leak request was merged into another unit's case, asked which open case an invoice covered, and asked that parts ship together for a single technician visit (June 2026).
  • Corrected Plunge when its support threads mixed this machine up with Machine 3 (August 2026).
  • Recorded two side-by-side jet-flow videos of this machine and Machine 3 and sent photos of the maintenance manual pages (August 31, 2026).
  • Tried the firmware update, removed and re-added the unit in the app, confirmed it was ready for a remote update, and followed up when no answer or parts tracking arrived (September 2026).
  • Reported the OR error on this unit, sent video of the error behavior seen on the units, and answered engineering's question about unit names in the app (September 2026).
What would show it is fixed
  • After the UI work, the app reconnects and the unit stays online through restarts.
  • Pausing and restarting the jets and connecting to Wi-Fi produce no OR or other error code.
  • Jet flow on this unit is measured and its difference from the neighboring unit is explained in writing.
  • Water stays clear between changes, with filtration and circulation checked.
  • The Hanna controller doses and reads correctly without overtime shutdowns after the promised firmware rollout.
  • The unit runs without leaks beneath the chiller platform or at the filter housing.
  • The unit reaches the agreed set point and its displayed temperature matches a measured water temperature.
  • The light stays on without flickering or switching at random.
  • A dated, unit-by-unit record links each reported problem to the work done and its result.
In the owner's words

I first raised concerns about the jet flow on [this plunge] with Plunge support on May 3, 2024. This has now been an ongoing, unresolved issue for more than two years. [...] each time one problem is addressed, another seems to appear—or the original problem remains unresolved. These are commercial units that we rely on to operate our business, and I need a comprehensive solution rather than continuing to troubleshoot and purchase additional parts piecemeal.
