Machine 3 of 3
Plunge All-In Commercial with auto-doser, cold only · in service from Apr 2024
As of September 29, 2026, after a summer 2026 repair that included a new chiller, the app connection, errors and shutdowns after pausing the jets, the temperature-reading mismatch and the random light shut-off were still open. Plunge's written answer was a $970.56 quote for a new display and ribbon cable, aimed at the app connection.

What went wrong, and when.
Each problem is counted once, in the year it was first reported.
What the owner reported, and what Plunge did.
In the order they were first reported.
- Controls and appApp or controls only
The owner reported that all three units were offline in the app one morning and that reset steps did not work. After removing and re-adding the units in the app, the other two reconnected but this one did not, and it still would not connect the next day.
Plunge support said the control interfaces were not working as intended, though the units were cooling and operating, and said it would set up fresh control interfaces and have a technician check and swap them to get this unit connected.
Company-confirmed point - Jets and flowReported impaired
The owner reported that the jets turned on and off over and over and that water clarity was hard to maintain, after several resets, a drain and refill with new filters about two weeks earlier, and the latest firmware. A further filter swap left this unit unchanged, and the water level was well above the minimum line.
Plunge support said it could see a random, intermittent loss of flow every few minutes, suggested the pump was drawing air because the water was below the skimmer line, and asked the owner to check the bottom and side drains for debris.
Company-confirmed point - CoolingReported impaired
The owner reported that the unit was having a hard time maintaining temperature, in the same report as the cycling jets.
Owner account - Controls and appReported impaired
The owner reported that the pause button had stopped working, and two days later that it still was not working.
Plunge support said that with the new firmware the pause can take from five seconds to a minute to take effect while the pump winds down, and asked whether the jets failed to pause even after a minute.
Owner account - LeakReported impaired
While checking Machine 2's leak, the owner found a visible leak coming from this unit's filter housing, with corrosion already developing around it, and sent a video. The owner followed up that no one had arranged to ship the parts, and later asked whether the invoice covered this unit's filter-housing leak and corrosion and asked for all parts to come together for a single technician visit.
On June 21, 2026 Plunge support said engineering had confirmed a leak in the filter housing assembly and that it was processing a replacement order for a filter housing assembly, an AB union repair kit, three Hanna cables and a Gen2 chiller fitted to the Gen1 tub, to be handled as an extended-protection claim. On July 1 Plunge wrote that the claim was for this unit's filter-housing leak and corrosion. In that claim thread Plunge gave the owner an engineering statement for the extended-protection provider saying a filter-housing leak had caused the chiller system to fail and that there was no indication of customer misuse, negligence or external damage. On July 24 Plunge said payment on the invoice was confirmed and the repair was moving to scheduling.
- 37 days from the first leak report to Plunge moving the repair to scheduling (June 17 to July 24). Plunge itself wrote that the warranty and invoice back-and-forth had taken far too long.
- Nine days of protection-plan status messages saying the claim was still under review (July 3 to 12).
- On July 28 the technician could not schedule the visit until the parts for this machine and Machine 2 had both arrived.
Company-confirmed point - Dosing and water chemistryReported impaired
The owner reported that the doser was reading very low ORP and high pH even though the reservoirs were full and manual test strips showed pH only barely high and hardness a little high, which suggested both chemicals were dosing correctly, and asked whether a leak at the probe was causing bad readings.
Plunge's June reply covered only the filter-housing leak. On September 23, 2026 Plunge said the Hanna reading problems on the units are linked to a known firmware issue to be fixed in a rollout expected in 10 to 14 days.
Owner account - LightingReported impaired
After the summer 2026 repair the owner reported that the light turned off randomly. The owner later made clear that the light turned on and off at random rather than shutting off after about four hours, and that this began after the chiller and Hanna controller were replaced.
Plunge support said it was tracking the random light shut-off as a separate follow-up. Engineering said a shut-off after about four hours can be normal, but a random cut-out would need a replacement. Two light kits later arrived in a free supplies order.
Owner account - Controls and appReported impaired
The owner reported that pressing pause to change a filter set off loud dinging, showed an OR code and then powered down the entire unit, twice in a row. The owner then explained that the sound was an electronic chime from the unit itself, like its restart sound, not a mechanical noise, sent video, and reported the OR code also appearing when connecting to Wi-Fi. By September 21 the same pause-and-restart action produced an HA code that would not clear unless the unit was powered off and restarted.
Plunge support first asked the owner to remove the rear cover and look for loose pieces, then sent more detailed steps: check near the fan, record video, and compare the displayed and measured water temperature, saying an OR code signifies a thermistor error. Plunge then said engineering saw no OR code in the remote metrics for any of the three units, asked for video, and said an OF code may need a control-interface replacement. Plunge's September 23 recommendation for this unit was a UI ribbon cable and display for the app connection; it does not say that work addresses the pause errors.
- Ten days from the first report to the error changing from OR to HA, with no fix (September 11 to 21).
- 12 days from the first report to Plunge's engineering recommendation (September 23), which does not address the pause errors.
Owner account - CoolingReported impaired
The owner reported that the temperature shown on the unit has never matched the actual water temperature since delivery in 2024, that the Hanna controller shows yet another temperature, and that the studio routinely sees three different readings. The owner said this had been raised with support in early 2024.
Plunge support said a mismatch between the displayed and actual temperature could indicate a failed temperature sensor (TH-1). The September quote does not include a sensor.
Owner account - Controls and appApp or controls only
The owner reported that this machine and Machine 2 had been offline in the app for several days and could not be reconnected by any available method, and confirmed that the unit names had not been changed in the app.
On September 23, 2026 Plunge engineering recommended a Gen2 UI ribbon cable and a UI display for the app-connection problem, and Plunge invoiced the work on September 29, 2026.

| The unit was offline in the app for several days and could not be reconnected (reported September 21, 2026). | Plunge engineering recommended replacing the Gen2 UI ribbon cable and the UI display for the app-connection problem, and Plunge invoiced that work on September 29, 2026. |
| Pausing the jets set off an electronic chime, an OR code and a full power-down, twice in a row; later the same action produced an HA code that would not clear without powering the unit off and on. | Plunge support first asked the owner to remove the rear cover and look for loose pieces, then to check near the fan and send video, and later said remote metrics showed no OR code on any of the three units. |
| The temperature on the unit's display, the Hanna controller and a thermometer in the water do not agree; the owner said the display has never matched since delivery in 2024. | Plunge support said an OR code signifies a thermistor error and that a mismatch could indicate a failed temperature sensor (TH-1). |
| Hanna dosing readings. | On September 23, 2026 Plunge said the Hanna reading problems on the units are linked to a known firmware issue to be fixed in a rollout expected in 10 to 14 days, and that power cycling can bring readings back in the meantime. |
| The light turns off at random after the summer 2026 service. | Plunge support said a shut-off after about four hours can be normal and that a random cut-out would need a replacement; Plunge later delivered a free supply order that included two light kits for the studio. |

A quote is not a payment, and nothing here is added together.
- Plunge manufacturer warranty
One year from the original purchase (six months for the auto-doser probe)
Covers defects in the shell, plumbing, equipment and controls. A replacement part keeps the original end date. It ended in spring 2025; later repairs went through the extended protection or were paid by the owner.
- Extended protection, through XCover
February 28, 2025 to February 28, 2030
One certificate per machine, each with an $11,990 limit. Plunge sent this machine's 2026 filter-housing and chiller repair through it.
- May 2024: worked through the reset steps, then removed and re-added all three units in the app; this unit still would not reconnect.
- July 2024: reset the unit several times over several days, after a drain and refill with new filters about two weeks earlier and the latest firmware update; swapped filters again, checked the main debris filter and the water level, and began checking the drains at Plunge support's request.
- June 2026: while checking Machine 2's leak, inspected this machine, found the filter-housing leak and corrosion, checked the chemical reservoirs, tested the water with manual strips and sent a video.
- June 2026: started the extended-protection claim, followed up when no one arranged parts shipment, chose to wait for claim approval before paying, and asked for all parts to ship together for one technician visit.
- August 2026: sorted out which reported problems belonged to which unit across several open tickets, and reported the light behavior on this unit after the repair.
- September 2026: asked Plunge for specific inspection instructions, recorded and sent videos of the chime, the OR code and the HA code, corrected the fan-noise premise, compared the temperatures on the unit display, the Hanna controller and a thermometer, and tried every available method to reconnect the unit to the app.
- The unit reconnects to the app after the UI ribbon cable and display are replaced, and stays connected through a restart and over the following weeks.
- Pausing and restarting the jets, including for a filter change, works with no chime, no OR or HA code and no power-down.
- The temperature on the unit display, the Hanna controller and a thermometer in the water agree, or Plunge explains the difference in writing and says whether the temperature sensor has failed.
- Hanna readings are correct and dosing runs normally after the announced firmware rollout.
- The light stays on as designed, with no random shut-offs.
- The filter housing stays dry with no new leak, and the corrosion area is checked.
- The unit cools to its set temperature and the jets run steadily without cycling.
- Plunge provides a written work order for this unit that names each reported problem, the diagnosis, the corrective work, the completion date and the test result.
There is a visible leak coming from the filter housing. Corrosion is already developing in that area. [In August:] this one was also repaired with a new chiller. [...] The light turns off randomly. [In September:] When pressing the "pause" button to swap out a filter, the unit started making loud dinging noises, displayed "OR" on the screen, and then completely powered down the entire plunge.
